Nissan CPF02A25 free lift cylinder leak

We just repacked the free lift cylinder on a CPF02A25V using an aftermarket packing kit from TVH. Every once in a while the cylinder will pour out hydraulic fluid like there is no packing in it at all. We checked around and were told that the aftermarket kits are no good and that we should only used the kit from Nissan. I can see the point but when it leaks it really leaks so it seems to me it is an internal issue in the cylinder and not the kit.
The free lift cylinder # is 58410-L1102.
Any ideas?

I also have not had a problem with TVH packings. Is the free lift cyl the accumulator type (with the valve at the bottom of the ram)? If so, sounds like the packing at the top of the barrel is defective which hopefully is good news

We have had techs damage the piston seal when installing - Seal in the wrong way ( lip needs to be on pressure side ) - Does the cylinder have a check valve in the center of the rod? Never had any issues with TVH seals. my 2 cents
