Nichiyu FBRF 70

Got an issue with this unit where the free lift cylinder will creep down. Only happens every now and then. ofcourse it wouldn't happen while I was there, but the operator did show me a video of it happening and it was moving quite fast.

One thing I did notice was the hydraulic motor would come in when the lower was activated. It was spinning the same direction as when lifting and the schematic says that the lower doesn't go through the pump. Anyone know why this happens? I've never seen this before.

Anyone come across this fault? I'm thinking it's the piston seal bypassing or a problem in the control valve. It has fingertip controls, and like I said the motor comes on as soon as you hit lower. The video that I saw you can't hear the motor coming on.

Hello Jofork, I think it is a ball valve. I did find it in the parts list, it's not mentioned in the workshop manual.
Kind regards

Thanks Marcb. Located in the piston on the rod? Is it a ball valve type thing? I don't think I've come across a cylinder with a check valve before. Is it generally a repairable part?

Hello Jofork, the fact that the hydraulic motor is turning when lowering is normal with the -70 series. I think when it's only a lowering problem of the free lift cylinder you have to look at this first. In the free lift cylinder inside the piston head there's a valve check.
