Discussion:
mounting and dismounting

I have a question I remember reading somewhere about mounting and dismounting forklifts only on the left side and not from the right side due to the control levers being located on that side and the potential to engage the controls on accident with loose clothing bumping into etc. ? has any one seen an article detailing this and if so where can I find it

I googled mounting and dismounting a forklift and found a few articles. All of them had some good points and all of them were full of extraneous information. Your suggestions on mounting are correct for a SDCB. Bear in mind the steering wheel is also mounted to one side and that is the only side you should use. Also, different makes have different configurations of construction which will either hinder or help getting on/off the vehicle.
