Discussion:
Mobile Billing

My company is currently under going the process of installing computers and printer in the vans to do all the paperwork at the customers location. While I am not complaining of any of this as I will be able to do alot of things I have had to wait for others on the other end of the radio to do, I do for see this system in the future eliminating jobs in the office. The trial run of this system the customers seems to really like as they are getting an itemized bill right there in front of them when the tech. is going to get signatures. I know a few other companies are doing the same thing as this seems to be the future of road service but does anyone here have any experience using this type of system and whats thier actuall real world experience of this?

Sounds like the wave of the future for sure. Look how hospitals handle things, they (the nurses) use a scan gun on everything they bring into the room. No doubt saves time, improves accuracy, reduce administrative costs, reduces losses.

Hey when I started in lift trucks they just outlawed sending messages to the head office by smoke signals (EPA's first course of action). When I turned 50, my boss held a good news, bad news meeting. Good News came first - here is your new IBM Think Pad laptop about $5k a copy then; Bad News - no more secretary, they are now admin. assistance - you do your own typing. And by the way there is training program tonight after work hours that will last for about 2 hours. Then we went home are learned how to lock up the computer and use the ESC, Control-ALT-Delete buttons & read the manual as it was "Sink or Swim" time once again. Talk about "old dogs and new tricks", yes they still can learn.

"Have An Exceptional Day!"
I worked for a dealer for a while and just went out on my own. I use this system and my customers love it. I also get paid faster because it gets invoiced that day.
