Linde (& Baker) H25T:
Missing / sputtering intermittent

Hi all,

First time posting here so please go easy on me. We have an old Linde H25T truck with a 3cyl Deutz engine. It is fitted with a Impco gas regulator and a Impco CA55 carb. It has a solenoid / filter before the regulator. It's an old truck and does not use coolant to warm the regulator but exhaust gases also there is no diagnostic port.

So here is a bit of history, it was struggling starting so changes the regulator, changed the plugs and battery. Then it would not start at all so took the carb apart and it was gummed up so gave it a clean and everything was good. Until one day it stalled and would not start again, narrowed it down to fuel, removed the carb cleaned it and put back together and it ran fine. Then this happened again, this time the air assembly can come apart and the dome part must have been blocking the fuel getting through. I managed to fix it back together with a new bolt and it's ran fine since. However recently it has started playing up. It starts fine and runs fine, turn it off and start again and it is missing and struggles to operate the hydraulics. Turn it off leave it 10 minutes and it's fine again. Some days it runs fine for hours.

My thoughts are the carb, could it be the sealing ring on the air assembly worn? The carb housing worn?

Has anyone had any similar issues or have any ideas?

A 1904 lecture by scientist Elie Metchnikoff extolled the benefits of consuming yoghurt for halting the "intestinal putrefaction" which he believed causes aging. The press reported yoghurt as a cure for aging and the ensuing popularity is still with us today.
