Yep, that's another one I have encountered.
If the ECM does not receive a brake light signal for an arbitrary period of time, that constitutes a defective condition.
If you find the Stop lamp fuse blown, check for chafed or burned wires in the areas near the base of the rear FOPS pillars (even if the truck does not actually have lights on the rear.
IF it DOES have the Komatsu OEM rear lights, check the light assemblies for damage that may have cut or crushed some wiring.
this is indicating a code 1805
1805 Stop lamp switch signal circuit - Stop lamp switch kept off more than specified time during
traveling.
check your brake switch and related circuits and bulbs
The lift is not going into any kind of limp mode. I was able to retreive the code after doing the pedal dance, I get 1 blink then 8 after that I get 10 blinks then 5 blinks then it loops and starts over.
I do not have any kind of code list or troubleshooting for this unit.
Thanks
Does this truck have Operator Presence Sensing System (seat switch) that disables the transmission drive if you rise up off the seat?
If so, there is a NEUTRAL lamp on the dash that should light up when the truck is in Neutral, and that light will flash on and off if the seat is empty with the transmission in FOR or REV.
Confirm that the NEUTRAL lamp is working by shifting to Neutral with the engine running.
If the NEUTRAL lamp DOES NOT light up, the engine MIL will light up because Komatsu decided to use the same lamp to indicate faults, whether from the OPPS controller or from the Engine ECM.
My experience with trucks in this series (with OPPS, or KOPS) is to confirm whether or not the NEUTRAL indicator lamp works.
If the truck has OPPS and the Neutral lamp does not work, that is a defective condition and will turn on the MIL.
It can be as simple as replacing a burned out Neutral lamp bulb, or there may actually be a fault in the engine.
if the fault light is persistant then there is a problem that needs to be corrected. It will not just go away until you fix what is causing it.
First you will need to find out what fault code it is.
There are 2 ways to get the codes...
1- get the SST scanner and read the codes in the ecm or...
2- do it the manual way using the accelerator pedal...
if this truck has the nissan K21/K25 engine you can do the pedal dance to activate the self-diagnosis system, just search the term 'pedal dance' and there are many threads here that explain how to get into the system using the accelerator pedal sequence.
Once you successfully access the system it will flash the codes with the MIL light on the dash.
get the DTC codes and come back here and tell what they are and we can go from there ;o)
