Hello, I just discovered this website! I have over 10 years experience as a road service mechanic at a crown dealership in the eastern united states. I also spend a lot of time working on non crown products, especialy nissans & toyotas, both I/C and electrics.
I was researching the idea of starting a web forum for fork lift machanics when I found this web site! I will recomend it to co-workers too.

Hi Andy, Welcome to the forum from a central pa lift guy....
Yes the forward and reverse switches are optical switches. its possible that they could be fouled by dirt or a forigen object, but it is more likly that one is broken. The crown RR 5000/5200 series trucks have built in diagnostic tools that can be used to test the operation of the swithes and potentiometers, you can view the operation of the switches on the acces 1 display screen. Do you know how to use that function?
Dear,sir
thanks for the reply and are this is related to oprtic switch and potentiometer?
and what i have to do first.
please advice and thanks for your kindly attention and good cooperation
codes 341 & 343 are showing a fault in one of the control handle forward & reverse switches. one of the switches is sticking closed, because code 343 is a detection of both switches closed at once.
hello Fixitandy...a very big welcome, we hope that you find the discussions valuable and fun and we look forward to your contributions to the discussions.
