Hyster S50FT horn

I have a 2020 Hyster S50FT that the horn will suddenly stop working. To make it work again you can simply remove the negative battery for a split second and it will work again. Eventually it goes out again and you must repeat the process. I have verified a 12 VDC to the red wire, a ground to the black and a negative on the white when the button is pushed. As I understand the negative for the button goes through the VSM. There are no horn codes when the horn stops. I am wondering if the VSM could be faulty and removing the negative somehow resets the VSM?

Rocky,

VSM may be causing the issue, but I would not replace unless you are positive. I would verify all connections between horn and VSM, look for loose or corroded connections. Sometimes the strobe light will cause ghost problems. Good Luck
