Discussion:
Hooked up to wrong side of charger

I work at a boat shop and one of our guys went to close up shop for the day and he hooked the charger up to the main board instead of the batteries. It's popping a small 15amp fuse the second you turn on the key. It's a 1995 serial number 1A151138 and we just paid for some kid to come trouble shoot it. Charged us a lot and he says we need to replace it all. I said that's a joke and that from what I've read it says we need a dc to dc converter. He says they didn't use dc to dc converters in 95 but didnt know what the components were or where they are located at. I can't find a manual to purchase and this forklift is kinda the life blood at the shop. If anyone can help direct me to what components were used before they went to a dc to dc converter, part number or some schematics for me to do the ground work would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance. Don't know if it helps but it's a 36v model.

Hey thanks very much for the info. I can confirm the key was off and the red lever was up set right.

It sounds like this display module is the next trick.

Do you happen to know any websites that have old parts or eBay my best bet ?

Thanks in advance, your a beast

From your description it sounds like FU3 is blowing, this protects the display module from high amperage. It sounds like there is a short in that module causing the fuse to blow. If it only blows when the key is turned to the start position it is highly likely that is your lissue. That doesn't surprise me as the charger was plugged into the truck instead of the battery, typically, especially if the key was left in the on position, a module will short out internally due to the high amperage. Hope this helps.

According to studies published in the English Journal of Medicine, the impact of daylight savings is revealed by a 24% increase in heart attacks on the Monday following the spring shift forward. When clocks move back in autumn, heart attacks drop by about 21%, suggesting that loss of sleep is an important driver.
