Hyster H2.00XMS:
Head gasket

Hi all

Got a hyster running on LPG. Had her for 6 years or so. It has the Mazda engine. It keeps doing the head gasket. It's just gone again, for the fourth time. Always the same symptoms, pressurising, condensation in the oil and miss firing.

Not taken it to bits yet. Last time had head skimmed, new bolts etc.

The truck rarely gets used. Perhaps 4 or 5 times a month for 10 minutes each time. Is this the problem, her not getting up to temperature? The gas bottles are a pain, just wondering if it's worth doing again or scrapping her and getting a newer diesel model.

Thoughts appreciated please, can't keep doing the gasket every year.

Regards

Karl

If you do go for the replacement option - with that sort of short infrequent usage pattern a electric counter balance truck with a gel battery would be a better long term option.
