Discussion:
hard to start when cold

I have a 7fgu30 sn 69096, with a 4y and ecs, hard to start when cold, after cranking for 30-40 sec will catch for a couple of seconds and die. cleaned the throttle body and checked fuel cut off solenoid, (works normally) eventually it will catch and run, but with a rolling idle for several minutes, once running will accellerate normally and sounds fine. No codes displayed and engine lamp works normally. Any help would be appreciated. thanks

These trucks are very sensitive to being grounded. You may want to run a extra ground wire directly to the frame. Have seen this many times where it is not the stater that is bad but taking the old one off and installing a new cleans enough dirt off that it creates a better ground.

Kevin thanks for the input. cleaned the vaporizer out, not much tar in it. still had concern.
Today the starter would just click, installed new starter and all concerns are gone! I did not think the starter was cranking slowly, but it must have been drawing alot of current and dropping battery voltage to a point that it affected the ecs. Starts at first attempt every time now!

Foundling hatches are safe, anonymous drop-off points for unwanted infants, allowing parents in crisis a way to surrender a baby safely without fear of punishment, ensuring the child is rescued and cared for. The concept started in the 12th century, was abandoned in the late 19th century, then reintroduced in 1952. It has since been adopted in many countries.
