Doosan (& Daewoo) G25S:
hard starting when hot/warm

hello. im working on this daewoo gc20s-3 forklift and it will start fine when cold but when warm or hot will take a while to start or will not start for hours after running for 3 min. It seems that I will be the one fixing this problem child after its been neglected for so long. any help would be nice. by the way. would any one know what spark plug this lift uses as they have autolite in there at the moment and would like a more reliable plug. Thank you.

Hi dear friend how are you.
Im electrical technician forklift.
I have a problem with Daewoo forklift with engine GM G424FE.
When I starting engine engine doesn't run.
I check all of wiring and sensor everything is ok.
Just I found when ignition switch is on,all sensor dosent have GND signal from SECM.
In shop manual for this model says this forklift have Delayed shutdown system.
Do you know what I should be doing for this problem?

Profile updated. Thank you for the part numbers. So I looked and found what regulator that is on the unit and it is a impco cobra. Looking to get a rebuild kit for it. Also whoever hooked it up used Teflon tape. A big no no from what I understand. Thanks again guys!

I think your truck has the electric lock off now. You don't need another, just the regulator, and use the lock off that you have with the new regulator.

Will I need to get a electronic fuel lock valve for the Cobra j regulator or is it not used on that type of regulator?

A bad model J fuel regulator will cause that problem with it starting cold ok but not once it has run a bit. It will have too high a pressure and run rich. They also have a electric fuel lock valve that for some reason causes the regulator to blow it's primary valve. Updating to a Cobra regulator will solve that problem.

If your distributor cap is moving around and isnt the correct one i would start there,it shouldnt move around like that.

serial number 95-01747 It's a lp fueled unit. Hurcules 2.7L. starts when cold. run the unit for 5-10 min and then shut it off. The unit will crank and will not start. I can smell lp from exhaust while cranking. Has a small missfire under load. distributer cap is not the correct one as it is able to move around when locked down. Air filter ok and have cleaned the diaphram at the mixer along with the throttle plates with brake clean. no holes in diaphram. havent tryed to see if it is a fuel or ignition related problem yet. I will keep you posted. thanks for you time!
