Discussion:
Forward Acceleration on E-Brake

I have two PE3000's.

One of them wont move at all, and it won't lower forks either. I've checked all terminals, power, etc., everything checks out. I've replaced the line contactor and pump contactor but have had no success. This one won't budge at all. (8,000 hours of operation)

Additionally, the other PE3000 won't move either. I've ran the same diagnostics as the other one, but to no avail. However, I accidentally hit the red emergency brake button at the top of the handle, and received forward movement. This confused me. I've looked at the internal wiring within the handle, and everything is as it should be.

Both have new line and pump contactors, which is usually the prime source of failure in my machines. Any input and/or advice would be much appreciated, because I'm at a standstill. I'm beginning to think the controller somehow lost it's programming and is acting out. However, my computer isn't coming on once plugged into the controller. (17,000 hours of operation)

I also have another model, PC3600, that's doing the same as far as forward movement ONLY when the emergency brake is initiated. Same diagnostics ran as well. (9,000 hours of operation)

Power to forward and reverse switches goes through emergency reversing switch first and when you bump the button it sends power out other part of switch to reverse truck. Check that switch first then check to see if power is getting to switches when handle is pulled down.
