Discussion:
Fluctuating Idle

One of my forklifts idle started fluctuating today. When you first start it up it idles fine for about a minute then the idle starts fluctuating. It almost dies then goes to normal then almost dies and back to normal. I have no manuals for this forklift. It runs of propane. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would start by checking the throttle body for sludge build up. Pull both the air horn and throttle body. There is a valve on the side of the air horn, pull that off also. Clean everything with throttle body cleaner. Hopefully that helps, if not you may have to get a Toyota tech in with the hand held analyzer to check it out.
