Discussion:
Error code C57

An pallet jack Raymond model 8400 serial number 840-11-87320, mark the error code C57, this happens when accelerating to move and immediately put in slow motion mode. Can anyone help with the meaning of this code?

For me every time it's a loose female spade on the male spade on the main contactor. The blue one with 2 wires.

Except for one, replacing the contactor solved it.

I had a toyota 8 series jack which is identical to the Raymond with the same issue.ended up being a pinched wire behind the horn for the resistor coil for the brakes

pour les modèles 8210, voir fil sur le klaxon si il n'est pas débranché. ce qui peut occasionner le code C57

Yes, those bushings are very important as brake switch goes on/off very fast and codes out truck. It makes truck cut out intermittently too, frustrating driver. I used to have that as cause in my old notes. Will add to other post.

C57 is brake circuit. Check wires over motor, where the harness bends as you turn. Check splices for bad crimps

what our techs have found is the springs for the buttons in the control pop out of place not allowing the magnetic sensors to return to neutral. Also check the coast select actuator have seen those pop off sometimes at the handle return spring.

Fact of the week
In March 2002, identical twins in Finland died on the same day in similar accidents within hours of each other. A 70-year-old man was killed by a truck while cycling; hours later, his twin brother was killed by a truck on the same road, about a mile away, before the family had been informed of the first accident.
