Discussion:
Emissions system freezing

Hello everyone, my name is (tada) John. I'd like to thank everyone in advance, both for allowing me on your forum, and for any advice forthcoming!
So this year we purchased 7 (seven) new Hyster Fortis lift trucks. We are in the middle of a cold spell here (like most of the rest of the country), and since this cold snap started, we've had nothing but trouble with these lifts.
The issue (or main issue right now) seems to be with the crankcase emissions. These are powered by Kubota power plants Type: V3800-CR-TI-EU3, Family : GKBXL03.8CMD.
For some reason, there seems to be excessive moisture in the crankcase blow-by, and it gets in the associated hoses, filter and/or fittings, where it freezes, blocking all crankcase pressure relief. Then excessive crankcase pressure builds, and blows out an oil plug and spews motor oil everywhere>
Question is, is anyone else having issues with this? And if so what remedies have you found? Can we just disconnect the crankcase breather hose from the filter, plug the filter off and let the hose dangle like a regular puke tube on a normal diesel?
