Hyster S155XL2:
Electric shift transmision trouble

Hyster S155XL2, Ser# C024V02936E. we have 4 of these machines and one has a electrically activated shift system which isn't working. It has a module #8530585 R2, you need to step on the brake to activate the shift circuit. There is a red LED on the module that is not on, it flashes when you key on, the power and ground circuits are tested and good, i can power the shift circuit by jumping the module plug power to the switch power terminal (term#2 - term#5). The brake lights work. The park brake start lockout system works. What I would really like is a wiring diagram, any help appreciated.

Torino,

That module is an operator presence module. These modules are known to fail. Verify all connections and wires first. Also, make sure the alternator is charging at the correct voltage. Failing alternators have been known to cause all kinds of problems. Send email to fishmechatcoxdotnet. Good Luck

The hard to do we do right away. The impossible just takes a little longer.
