Dematic's Multishuttle SystemGerman supply chain automation technology provider Dematic has announced a partnership with Eren Perakende to automate its new distribution centre in Istanbul.
For over 55 years Eren Perakende has been a licensed distributor in Türkiye for a number of top brands including Lacoste, Burberry, and Converse. The company has operations in 25 countries, 600 brick-and-mortar stores and 17 digital channels.
It chose to automate its Istanbul distribution centre to optimise fulfilment processes as it works to address the increasing challenge of labour shortages and increasing operational costs.
Dematic explains it will implement an innovative automated solution including its Dematic Multishuttle system which provides high-density, high-throughput storage and rapid order retrieval. The system automatically supplies items to GTP picking stations, with an integrated conveyor network streamlining processes from inbound storage through to order fulfilment and dispatch, ensuring seamless material flow.
“The system’s flexibility and modularity will allow it to grow as Eren Perakende grows, handling up to 4,000 load movements per hour with ease,” says Mithun Perinchery, Dematic’s head of sales – Middle East, Africa and Türkiye.
“It’s all about keeping operations running smoothly and efficiently.”
Automation of the distribution centre is in its early stages with implementation expected to start in June 2025.
CEO of Eren Perakende, Osman Sentürk, says automation of the Istanbul distribution centre “is an important milestone in our journey toward a smarter, more agile supply chain”.
“We aim to increase our digital sales share from 25% to 35%, and we already provide next-day and same-day delivery options to ensure maximum customer convenience.”
