Discussion:
ELECTRIC FORK WITH NO DRIVE OR LIFT

Hi,
I need some help to get a Yale fork going. It has a newly installed battery pack. The display has - 16 and the only live part is the steering electrics. Both drive and lift do not respond. The dash has a red light on the drivewheel symbol. The controllers for motors are GE. The machine has been idle for some time.
Is there any manuals on line for these machines?
Thanks in advance
Regards Julian

flight systems has manuals for all GE controllers
you can use them for general troubleshooting
but if you want specific settings for 'yale' you will need the yale manual , more to the point the 'setup' section to insure you are putting in correct values per the model , voltage, size motor and panel type etc.

check your battery maximum volts, after charging it should not exceed 57.6v(for a 48v truck), if it does then your charger is overcharging the battery causing the truck to trigger this code.

Plus this truck has 2 controllers, one for each motor and each controller will have to have function 15 set to a specific value

Left Controller Factory default value should be 186
Right controller Factory default value should be 255
(this is assuming the controllers are GE SX controllers)

This truck was also manufactured as an AC drive truck with a zapi system in it.
You might want to insure what system is in it before using my advise.

Thanks Stam,
The fork has always been a 48 volts system.
My e-mail is [email address removed]

I would very much appreciate the controller manual.

I suspect your truck has a ge sx controller. code 16 is battery volts too high, this can be adjusted with the lx handset - function 15.

is it possible it had a 36volt battery and now has 48?

I can send you my sx manual if you have an e-mail address.

also some forklifts with this controller require specific settings for function 15 that only the oem manual can tell you or someone who knows the truck.
