Discussion:
Crown CG25e slow turnover no start

Hi ??
I've recently purchased a 2003 Crown CG25e (copy of a Doosan G25e it seems) from the auctions and I cannot get it to start.
It turns over really slowly like something is dragging. I've installed a new battery and starter motor. All voltages check out at the relevant test points.

I think it's a brake issue, if I press the brake pedal while trying to start it, the starter bogs down even more!

The unit has oil cooled brakes however I'm struggling to find out how the system works to trouble shoot.

Any guidance is much appreciated.

Thanks!

make sure you have a good earth from engine to ground can also cause slow crank if its broken or dirty even rig up good battery cable earth from engine to frame see if that helps or maybe you have a crook battery or starter even though new they can still be faulty

Hi,

Thanks for responding.

So this morning I managed to pull the pump off the end of the trans. Went to crank it and it's the same ??. Still turns over slow and it pushed a heap of transmission oil out. So big mess, same situation with no start.

I'd did notice that there's a heap of oil in the trans. I know you're supposed to check it running however could high trans oil be giving me my issues?

Any other ideas?

Thanks guys.

Back pressure from hyd pump ,look at pump and see if it has a screw in valve or a valve attached the valve is for brake and steering
They will go bad and cause the back pressure on engine causing the issue you have
I would find a part breakdown of hyds
And look for the diverter on some models it looked like a plug that takes an 18-22 mm wrench you unscrew it and take out and replace also check hyd control valve
The control valve has a pressure valve that screws into it that has caused this issue also
Bottom line too much back pressure on hyd pump causing to put engine under strain during start up if engine did start it would most likely break hyd pump or at very least blow line apart

hi
i had a similair problem with a nissan a few years ago it would struggle to wind over slugish bogging down it turned out that the hydraulic pump was seizing up as soon as we removed the pump the unit started straightaway so i would be looking into that maybe when you start the unit if the pump is a problem it may be getting hot ? just a thought as you said it bogs down even more when brake is depressed good luck
