I have a Crown Walkie Forklift Model # 20MT-S, Serial # L-12316. Does anyone have a service manual or schematics for this unit or know where I can get them. Any information would be appreciated, this lift just gave out on us. Please help!

Do you mean that the turtle/rabbit switch is always stuck at turtle and you cannot push to switch to turtle? Or you do not have third speed? One of most headache problem with the M series is the problem with third speed. First thing to do this check. Open the battery compartment door and put the door switch to Normally Close. Pull handle to activate the brake switch. Press in the B contactor, make sure the C contactor comes in. If not please check the small micro switch on top of the B contactor. When the B and C contactor comes in it will switch the power from 12V to 24V (that's why you do not have lift when you go on 3rd speed). Also please check on the mast switch and make sure it is working as again there will be no fast speed whent the second stage mast is raised. Please check on these first and I am sure you will find the problem.
No need to remove contactor panel to access the resistor, just remove the batteries, and you can feel the resistor behind the handle post spring.

If ever there was a forklift that needs a sign on it saying "for limited use only", it's one of these.

Roadtek: I also have a Crown 20MT, S/N 1A108301011 It has been plauged with chronic battery and wiring problems over the last few years... The latest problem is the toggle for 2 speed doesnt work. (stuck on turtle / no rabbit) Need wiring diagram to troubleshoot machine. Pls can fax to 203 878 5065. Any advice for the above issue? Cant see resistor mentioned earlier in this post. Does the plate with all the contactors need to be removed to access it?

I also need a wiring diagram / schematic for an electric walk behind CROWN 20MT, SN 28455; Mast # 20MT410. Let me know the cost. My forklift was dead when I bought it. Thanks. No info is available from CROWN.

The resistor in the US built MT is behind the top batteries and steer post. Most common fault is a cable that has corroded off the stud.

Thanks for that. I now know what i'm looking for. The resistor has gone open circuit. Where is it? Is it in the motor?

Thanks once again.

No still after a diagram. I'm guessing its a resistor truck. The serial number is SNL24450. Not too keen to pull all the wires out and just want to check what voltages should be where..

Thanks

Matt.
