UgoWork will now assemble some forklift batteries in the USCanadian lithium-ion energy solutions specialists for the materials handling industry, UgoWork, has launched battery assembly operations in the United States for some of its forklift batteries, starting this month.
The company confirmed its next-gen lithium-ion batteries for Class I, II and III forklifts for the US domestic market will now be assembled in the US from domestic and foreign components.
UgoWork says the move allows it to “remain price-competitive while complying with evolving industrial sourcing policies”. It says the addition of US-based final assembly will also increase production and flexibility.
UgoWork did not specify where the US assembly operations were taking place.
Philippe Beauchamp, president of UgoWork, says scaling up assembly operations in the US was “the next logical step” for the business.
“We’re building serious traction with fleet operations across the country, and this move allows us to raise production capacity, stay closer to our clients, and comply with US manufacturing guidelines,” Beauchamp adds.
“We’ve always planned for this, but recent market conditions simply accelerated our timeline.”
