Discussion:
Code GD

Reach keeps displaying code GD, I've checked the steer encoder, the steer motor. Any ideas on what else it could be?

My experience with code gd besides steer motor encoder is steer gear box going bad, ring gear loose and spinning on drive unit, steer sensor flag, broken teeth on pinion or ring gear. Good luck

Had the same issue and found the brushes for the motor were worn down very bad and the connatator for the motor was filled with dust from the brushes. Replaced brushes and honed the the connatator. No more issues after that.

this can be any loose steering parts. when the encoder sees input with no driver input it will code.
i have had the vehicle manager cause this code a few times but more common play in steer linkage, drive unit bearings, or any loose parts that have to do with steering

I was getting a GD on a Raymond double reach 750 including G4 and 4B. I replaced steering wheel encoder and still problem continued. I finally replaced the steer amplifier and it worked. All codes cleared.
