Hello, I am having an issue with a crown reach which has an intermittent code 814 and 818, it seems to happen more when you have a load on the forks and the reach out, checked height reset switch (the one that gets activated by the carriage) and rewired just to be on the safe side. I was going to replace the encoder but they gave me some upgrade kit which looks to be a huggge pain to install so I am pretty much looking to cancel everything else out first. Any tips or advice are greatly appreciated.

oh yeah 818 is an operator enduced code they seem to like to rest the forks on the rack and slack the chains up.. see thatall the time good operators dont get that code often..
Hello its not a real pain but it works much better than the old stye style with the cable that breaks. the retro kit just bolts to exsiting holes on the mast frame the part is hooking that red wire to the access 3 modual then recalibrate height. install is about an hour or so.. i have done several...

the switch on the carriage is the FLS and tells the truck the loadguard is now higher than the mast
the height reset switch is in the mesh panel under the windscreen
the height encoder is not calibrated
the HTRS height reset switch tells the truck when the mast stages and sets the height to the collapsed height stored in features, the encoder then adds to that value
hey crownie, thank you for your response. just a couple of odd points here, for some reason the code only seems to set off when the height switch that is activated by the carriage is opened/closed intermittently. Also would you be able to provide any info on how to calibrate the encoder once i am done replacing it. I went into the calibrate menu but i only get a 0-1 display. Thank you for your response and help.
make sure your chains are adjusted correctly
outside chains need to be adjusted so inner mast is level with 2nd stage mast at top
if you are not getting fault 816 it is most likely encoder
you can check encoder counts in analyzer 2
the new encoder is not too hard to fit if you follow the instructions, check your build date against instructions
i have never had to weld brackets, just some wiring changes
