Discussion:
Charging Issues

I have clark CGC-20 with the 4 cylinder Mitsubishi engine/alternator. Cannot get this thing to charge a battery. It has a new/good alternator and battery. Getting 12 volts at the battery + B terminal, 12 volts at the battery + S terminal, 9 volts at the L terminal which is the resistor/idiot light wire. The voltage light came on one day and would go off and on throughout the day until it just stayed on and I am getting no charge from Battery positive terminal (B+) I replace the 2 week old alternator with another one, had it tested it passed. Battery passed as well. I have cleaned every ground wire on the machine, cleaned every positive connection, checked all the quick disconnects. Traced all the wires from the alternator for any damage and check all the inline fuses. The belt is tight as can be, no belt slipping. I've added a ground from alternator to frame, frame to engine. It all leads up to yellow resistor wire that leads to the computer board. Cannot find a diagram for the dash computer board to see what resistor is what. Is there anyway to make this thing charge? Anything I'm missing? I'm very close to selling it at point. Thanks for any input you have on this.
