Readers digest condensed version.......... Auto shut down timer smoked. Trucks ignition no stay on to clear code. Bypassed timer. Cleared code. Mission accomplished. Truck stylin' n profilin' now.
My translation but it is a WAG.
you correct but mine power shut off key on only so when i tried clear codes manually power would shut off.as for coil problem cam and crank sensor check out fine [had the guy come to my shop to confirm] thank all of you guy's for the input.
I think he means the truck was equipped with an aftermarket auto shut down we used to have the same unit when it idled for 2 min or you got off the seat for 30 sec it the unit would shut off but your guess is good too ???????????
sorry but my ebonic's manual does not translate that version of whatever it was he said heheh :o)
but i think he said the code did not clear itself when the fault was fixed so he reset the fault history (probably using the pedal dance) and the shutdown cleared and the truck is now working.
(rough translation)????
shrugs
thanks for the help but you all are wrong ? found that was auto shut down that malfuction bypass it everything is good cleared code nothing came back
Changing spark plugs usually fixes the E-27 error
what triggers the code is the ECM trying to compensate for the change in the dwell because of the widened gap in the plugs electrode. Once it goes beyond the tolerances set in the programming it sets the code.
Just changing the coil will probably lead to another coil failure if you didn't replace the spark plug. Depending on age this might be fun as some of the engines were equipped with long shank full threaded plugs. These extended into the combustion chamber and gets carbon build up on the exposed threads. 50/50 chance of a clean removal. If need be heli coil the hole and ask for the long shank half threaded new style plug. may as well change/ check all the plugs. Never had to change the cam sensor and had to change 1 crank sensor. The code can be cleared with pedal dance.
P.O.S is not a coil but your cam? sensor or crank sensor one or the other I always replace both as a set in the front timing cover
have it brfore that just dirt on the end has caused the code but recommend starting there the code will not clear if the fault still exists just out of curiosity was the bad coil #2 it normally is
If you need more info just ask I can go get manual from the van
