Thanks Ed, I'm doing some research still right now. I've scene that Navitas controller in some other line - Maybe in BENDI ?
My concern is techs in our area get REAL nervous when they open a panel and see something they've not worked on before. CURTIS is good and most our service trucks have a Curtis handset on board. If I go that route, I may have to do it buffet style and pick my components individually to make the conversion. Mainly the accelerator or pot to match the controller. But while I'm updating, I'd like to replace the old contactor assembly's also.

I have (over a number of years and names) [personally] been very well pleased with the Navitas/SRE/Accelerated Systems products, I know of 1 that I did in about 1993 that is still running fine. and that was on a NYK.

"it's not rocket surgery"
I just (finished on Saturday ) installed a controller from Accelerated Systems Inc (navitas) The controller was very reasonable in cost I thought, was a pretty straight forward install. I guess time will tell how the durability is.
Thanks for the reply

Brent,

Did you get your AC running yet ? I was looking for updated info on Actronic conversion kits when I found your post.
I work with a bunch of old timers that have worked on the Actronics panels, I have a little myself and from your description I would think you have a interruption in power to the panel like a seat switch, brake switch or wiring.

I've used the Flight systems kits with good success, but you need to be careful, you can invest 1/2 the cost of a good used late model lift truck too.

I'm presently looking into using a Curtis Controller, I think it can be done cheaper and much less complex than a EV1 panel.

Hmmm, my first post got flagged and they would not post it saying I was trying to share material so I will try with different words, search actronic on a very popular online aution site.

I did rebuild the transistor banks about 10 years ago, I don't think that is the problem, but I didn't diagnose the problem back then I just replaced transistors, but the contacts don't pull in, so I'm not sure if we have a control card problem or something else. I was thinking about the flight systems conversion but I would still like to be able to say "yes here is the problem, but we can't buy parts" and then move forward.
Thanks

This is the old system with banks of transistors?

Even 30 years ago not many people were attempting repairs on them. I used to, but finally realized that everyone else was right: When you've got one with bad banks, it's cheapest in the long run to convert them to SCR. If you rebuild them, chances are you'll be doing it again next year.

Flight Systems sells kits for the conversion job.

There may be 1 or 2 that do, but Komatsu Product Support people at their head office should have access to those publications and typically a non authorized dealer and/or customer must work through their local dealer to get info.

I know what your saying, but its in good shape with a decent battery, just to good to throw away. I know how to hook up the box but after that I don't know what all the knobs and buttons are "supposed" to do.
Thanks

John, Do you really think there is anyone at any Komatsu dealer that remembers "ACtronic" systems?
I am impressed that anyone still has a working truck OR working troubleshooting box. heck, I am impressed anyone knows what this is.

do you have a specific question, or do you just want to know where the plug in is?

You might try contacting a Komatsu dealer in the US to get this information. Komatsu USA bought out Kalmar AC who bought out ACMH who bought out Allis-Chamers Material Handling assets back in the mid 80's.
