WIN – World of Industry 2006

Turkey, Istanbul - 16th to 19th March 2006
Following the record results of last year, the organizers of the industrial fair WIN - World of Industry expect more records to be broken in terms of both number of exhibitors and visitors at this year's event. Some 850 exhibitors will be coming to the TÜYAP Fair, Convention and Congress Centre in Istanbul, where they will be showing their innovations in the fields of automation technology, plant engineering, electrical engineering, hydraulics and pneumatics, as well as in the chemical industry, the welding technology sector and mechanical engineering. An amazing 99% of the available display area (some 60,000 square metres) is already booked. All the signs suggest that around 85,000 visitors from across the world will be attending, thus making this event the leading industrial fair in the whole of Eurasia. Significantly, the international profile and impact of this fair has also been strengthened. In addition to the many international companies exhibiting there will also be national pavilions from Germany, Bulgaria, Italy, Spain and China. The official Partner Country at this year's event is Bulgaria - a country poised for economic growth. An extensive supporting program will be focusing on the economic and business potential of the Bulgarian marketplace.

Companies which are still considering whether they should visit the fair may be interested in a program launched by Turkey's Foreign Trade Ministry. The Ministry aims to encourage visitors and will consider applications for partial funding of some of the expenses, such as accommodation, board and travel. The subsidy program, which forms part of an effort to encourage international dialogue and exchange, is primarily aimed at companies from Albania, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Egypt, Germany, Greece, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kirgisia, Macedonia, Romania, Syria, Tadschikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Ukraine. Information about how to apply for the subsidies, selection criteria, conditions, etc. can be obtained from the Turkish consulates and embassies in the relevant countries.

The trade fair is being organized by Hannover-Messe Bilesim A.S., which is a joint venture involving Hannover-Messe International Istanbul and Bilesim Fuarcilik. As a subsidiary of Deutsche Messe AG, Hannover-Messe International Istanbul has been operating in the Turkish trade fair industry since the mid-1980's. Bilesim Fuarcilik has also been successfully organizing industrial fairs with the emphasis on automation and electronics/electrical engineering for more than a decade. It is already apparent that by concentrating the resources of two such successful and experienced trade fair organizers in Hannover-Bilesim A.S. and gaining the support of numerous Turkish professional bodies and trade associations the event has a promising future.
