TOC Container Supply Chain: Asia 2013

Hong Kong, Hong Kong - 12 - 14 March 2013
TOC Container Supply Chain: Asia is part of a global portfolio of events that run in key shipping hotspots annually. The event is now being delivered in two distinct parts that, combined, come together to form a powerful platform for all stakeholders of the container supply chain; in this case with a focus on Asia.

The exhibition is a forum for container port manufacturers and software suppliers to showcase the latest cutting edge technology and port solutions. Free to air operational content is now being delivered on the show floor to bring together both the buyers and suppliers of port hard and software. Terminal operators are largely the target audience for this critical part of the event, in keeping with our 40 year history and heritage. The content delivered here carries no charge to the attendee as we recognise that most influencers and users of the technology need an easily accessible platform to meet and learn about what tools can help them run a modern day container facility. It is our belief that the port is the most critical link in the chain.

The conference is a high level fee based forum for a senior audience to gain a 20,000ft overview of where the industry is heading. As part of our new strategy, we now hear from major BCO's, carriers and 3pls; the companies who own and move the cargo that directly affects the ports and terminals. As the conference 'story' unfolds we follow the box from shipper to port. Operational content still features heavily in this editorial offering but much more as part of the bigger overall container industry picture.

The structure of TOC is designed to gain regional and global intelligence on where the cargo is coming from, the shipper's perspectives and the general economic condition of our industry.

Fact of the week
The two internal cavities in our nose called nostrils function as separate organs. Each nostril has its own set of turbinates and olfactory receptors. The two independent organs work together through a mechanism called the nasal cycle, where one nostril is dominant for air intake while the other rests and is better at detecting scents.
