The organisers state that in 2002, China International Industry Fair (CIF), the most established fair of its kind in China, will have its 10th anniversary. After China's entry into the WTO, the industry will face new challenges as well as new opportunities. CIF will also have to move ahead with the competition. Currently, China's economy has maintained steady growth due to the active fiscal policy and measures to stimulate domestic demand. The healthy development will facilitate big projects like the West-to-East power and natural gas transmission and the South-to-North water diversion. These projects requiring large investment and advanced technology, machinery and equipment will create business opportunities for multinational companies.
How to cater for the increasing market demand and stand the competition well will be the major issues for CIF. Apart from its current CIA as one of its sub-events this year, CIF 2002 will feature another two sub-events -- Subcon China and Metal-forming Technology. Subcon China - China Int'l Industrial Subcontracting Trade Exhibition is the only specialized event in the industry in Shanghai. OEM, ODM, OBM and other processing trade will become one of the most interesting areas in the industry, esp. after the WTO. Advanced metal-forming, casting, and molding technology will also be in great demand to upgrade China's traditional industries.
