BITA Industry Conference

Netherlands, Utrecht - 10-11 November 2003
The British Industrial Truck Association (BITA) has announced plans for a high-profile, two-day conference for professionals from all areas of logistics, materials handling, storage and distribution. The event is designed to promote positive business relationships within the UK materials handling industry and to provide a platform for BITA's annual Industry Briefing.
Taking place in Utrecht, Holland from 10-11 November 2003, the BITA Connections Conference will provide an excellent opportunity for industry professionals to find out about developments in their field and stay fully informed about the latest industry issues. Leading speakers will address health, safety, best practice and legislative issues which will impact on the industry.
Conference delegates will also be able to meet, and strengthen business relations, with some of the UK's leading suppliers and manufacturers through pre-arranged business discussion sessions. The conference has already attracted some of the biggest names in the industry and delegates will be able to pre-book meetings with leading suppliers such as Atlet, BT Rolatruc, Lansing Linde, Jungheinrich, Nissan, Toyota and Translift.
As part of the two-day programme, delegates will also have the opportunity to visit Logistica 2003, one of Europe's leading logistics exhibitions.
BITA's President, Brian Tyrer commented: "BITA Connections looks set to become a major fixture in the industry's calendar. The conference not only offers a unique learning opportunity for industry professionals but will also provide a valuable forum for strengthening communications between buyers and sellers."

Fact of the week
At the opening ceremony of the Sydney Harbour Bridge in 1932, marching bands were instructed to walk out of step as they crossed the bridge. This unusual directive was given as a precaution due to concerns about the bridge's structural integrity during its early use.
