Western Europe and China were primary drivers of year-on-year growth for the global industrial market both in the third quarter and in the first nine months of 2014.
According to Jungheinrich Group's market intelligence, the global unit order intake grew by 6.4% year-on-year to about 260,500 trucks in the third quarter. For the first nine months of 2014, the global order intake increased 9% to 818,600 trucks.
In the third quarter, Western Europe registered growth of 13.7%, while China's orders were up by 6.7 %. Western Europe recorded 12.6% growth for the first nine months of the year, and China recorded a 12.2% growth.
From July to September, orders in Eastern Europe grew by 5.3%, compared to 2.4% for the first nine months of the year.
The Jungheinrich Group recorded a 10% growth in net sales for the third quarter of 2014 while the value of incoming orders rose by 9%. Earnings before interest and tax were 12% higher year-on-year for the third quarter while unit production figures jumped 12% for the same period.
