To help prevent damage to pallets and goods,
Meijer Handling Solutions has developed a sensor that detects how level the load is. As soon as the sensor is fitted and the forklift picks up a load, the system detects the angle between the blade of the fork and the floor. This allows any bending of the forks, deflection of the mast and distortion of the tyres to be taken into account.
Loads that are not horizontal can become unstable, which can cause potentially hazardous situations. The
KOOI®Deflection System is a small sensor that can be fitted into the tip of the telescopic forks. Being fully enclosed in the front of the
KOOI®ReachForks, the sensor is protected against damage and shows the maximum deflection at the tip of the forks. The sensor works wirelessly via Bluetooth
® and can easily be replaced if necessary. The sensor can also be screwed onto the side of a standard forklift truck blade.
The KOOI
®Deflection System is wireless, no major adjustments to the forks are required, such as milling for the pocket in which the sensor comes and wiring. This makes the system perfect for aftersales purposes. The universal design of the system also means that this inclinometer can be used for other purposes besides on fork-lift truck blades.
The KOOI
®Deflection System is also read out and operated with the KOOI
®ReachControl App. Meijer Handling Solutions supplies a display with an integrated connector as standard. The IP54-rated display is suitable for indoor and outdoor use.
The KOOI
®Deflection System can also be used in combination with a separate camera system. This allows the forklift operator to be certain that the forks are always positioned horizontally and that they can be safely inserted in the pallet pockets if the pallets have been stacked high up or
double-deep pallet storage in the warehouse racking.
