FLTA will showcase the breadth of its resources and technical information that its members enjoy at IMHX 2010.
The Fork Lift Truck Association (FLTA) will be providing an insight into the ways it helps its members deliver the industry's highest standards of service at its stand at the IMHX trade show this year.

"Forklifts have transformed our lives for the better, but they are still complex and potentially dangerous pieces of equipment," says FLTA CEO David Ellison.

"Our primary concern is making them as safe and effective as possible for everyone who works on and around them. That's why we regularly organise safety initiatives like the National Fork Lift Safety Week and provide every member with support of the highest quality," Ellison adds.

Exhibiting at stand 18M105, the non-profit organisation will showcase the breadth of its resources and technical information that its members can enjoy.

FLTA members have instant access to a comprehensive library of online and paper-based manuals, technical bulletins and fact sheets. Engineers working in the field are ensured of quickly obtaining the latest information they need. Guidance, including monthly health and safety publications, is specifically tailored to the needs of the forklift industry and is delivered in an easy-to-read manner.

Members are also supported by telephone advice services. Specialist health and safety, commercial legal and employment law guidance are available at no charge. Answers to more general professional queries can be obtained through the Members Association Helpline.

Ellison says anyone involved in forklift operation stands to benefit from FLTA's support. "In fact, many UK manufacturers, distributors, dealers and suppliers of ancillary equipment rely on the association to keep them current on the latest health, safety, training and technical advice available."

Any company involved in manufacturing, distributing and servicing forklifts can be a member. There are strict criteria and members must abide by the FLTA Code of Practice. Companies running one or more forklifts can join the association's Safe User Group for a nominal fee. It was established to encourage and support safe workplace operations.

IMHX will be held at the NEC Birmingham on 16-19 November. The FLTA says its show stand will also act as a "base camp" for its members attending the show who wish to store their belongings while exploring the show.
