Millville-based Trico Lift has purchased 23 Genie-brand telescopic forklifts, adding to its extensive rental equipment fleet of aerial lift platforms.
Trico Lift rents, sells and services aerial lifts in the US Mid-Atlantic and Gulf Coast regional markets. Its equipment fleet is primarily boom lifts, scissor lifts and rough terrain forklifts.
In addition to the Genie brand from Terex Corp's aerial work platforms segment, Trico Lift represents the JLG and MEC lines.
On 27 June, Trico Lift appointed 18-year company veteran Chris Carmolingo to the newly created position of chief operating officer with responsibilities for operational and customer service excellence standards. Previously, Carmolingo was executive vice president.
Separately, Trico Lift named John M Paz as executive chairman of its board of directors. An investor in privately owned Trico Lift, Paz was chief executive officer and president of Godwin Pumps, which ITT Corporation bought in 2010.
In January, Trico Lift completed a strategic alliance with Modern Group Ltd, of Bristol, Pennsylvania, under which Trico bought a portion of Modern's aerial lift assets and a location in Baltimore, Maryland, and gained co-location with Modern in two existing Pennsylvania locations in King of Prussia and Allentown
(Forkliftaction.com News #492).
Under the alliance, Modern Group focuses on forklifts and Trico Lift concentrates on aerial lift platforms. Trico gained more than 700 pieces of lifting equipment, bringing its total to nearly 4,000.
In addition to those three sites and its Millville headquarters, Trico Lift has branch operations in four other Mid-Atlantic locations in South Plainfield, New Jersey; Marcus Hook, Pennsylvania; Beltsville, Maryland; and Manassas, Virginia; and two Gulf Coast sites in San Antonio and Tomball, Texas.
Philadelphia-based transport fuels provider Sunoco Inc recognised Trico Lift with a certificate of safety excellence for demonstrating a commitment to safety at Sunoco's Marcus Hook, Philadelphia, and Frankford plants in Pennsylvania.
