GAP has expanded its telehandler fleet |
GAP Hire Solutions is continuing its heavy investment in new equipment by purchasing over 100 new telehandlers in a deal worth in excess of GBP4.5 million (USD6.91 million).
The deal, in conjunction with JCB and Manitou, will extend GAP's fleet of plant hire equipment, offering telescopic handlers from 4 m to 18 m. It comes in response to increasing demand from customers.
The telehandlers will be supplied by JCB Scot and various Manitou dealers throughout the UK.
Ken Stewart, head of procurement at GAP, says GAP had a relatively small fleet of telehandlers. "The new holding of telehandlers means we can supply our customers quickly with brand new equipment straight from our depots," he says.
Stewart adds that a number of customers had specified the Manitou products, in particular the MT1840, which can lift 4 T at a reach of 18 m.
"The new JCB model 525-60 has also been well received by both depots and customers and we look forward to continuing our long-term and excellent working relationship with both companies," he says.
GAP claims to invest relatively more than any other UK hirer in new products, and was recently ranked 58th in the world's top 100 rental companies.
