Industry players are being invited to share stories about their careers as part of this year’s Global Lifting Awareness Day (GLAD), to be held on Thursday, June 12 with the theme Lifting Careers, Building Futures.

GLAD is held annually to increase awareness about the skills gap the industry is facing and is a “launchpad to inspire the next generation to explore careers in lifting”, the Lifting Equipment Engineers Association (LEEA) states.

“The lifting industry plays a crucial role in global infrastructure, construction, manufacturing, logistics, and more, yet many employers are struggling to recruit and retain skilled professionals,” LEEA says. “As recruitment challenges intensify, GLAD 2025 aims to provide practical solutions to help businesses identify, develop, and retain top talent.

“As part of LEEA’s campaign for GLAD, the association will be sharing stories with its global membership base and LinkedIn following of over 24,000 people.

"This is a great opportunity to promote a business and a positive news story of how a manufacturer, supplier, or other organisation is supporting the wider industry.”

Those working in the lifting industries have been encouraged to hold events on June 12 to promote GLAD, supply an interview or case study on video to be shared, or to share content promoting the event on social media with the #GLAD2025 hashtag.

On June 12, the LEEA will also reveal the findings from its State of the Lifting Industry survey which asked participants about the skills gap, recruitment challenges and training needs.
