French warehouse robotics provider Exotec’s fleet of Skypod robots has achieved the operational milestone of completing more than one million container presentations daily on a global basis.

“Each presentation represents a robot retrieving a container and delivering it to a designated workstation,” Exotec explains. “Each container can fulfil up to four orders, significantly reducing the time and effort it takes for warehouse workers to keep up with customer demand.”

Exotec says the average worker in a manual warehouse is estimated to walk 16km each working day. Eliminating this through automation, Exotec says, offers a “five-fold increase in pricking productivity”.
