The KION Group is entering into an exclusive global strategic partnership with leading Chinese manufacturer EP Equipment in the fast-growing market for entry-level, light-duty warehouse equipment. After signing a first order with the Mediaco Group in the northern spring, Terex Cranes has begun deliveries. The first of these machines, a Demag AC 220-5, was delivered to Mediaco East at the Nancy office. SJF Material Handling founder Gerald ‘Jerry’ Sterner, passed away last week, shortly after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Jerry opened the business in 1979 as SJ&F Enterprises and was a very active participant in every facet of the business until his retirement, when he turned the reigns full-time over to his sons. Russia's Tuapse Commercial Seaport JSC (TCSP) plans to spend USD34.1 million in its investment program in 2018. The Maritime Executive reports that the plan includes the overhaul of one of the port's grain terminals at a cost of over USD15 million. Roofing contractor Empire Roofing has taken delivery of the first six production models of the new Xtreme XR1055 rough-terrain telehandler from Xtreme Manufacturing. Launched at CONEXPO/CON-AGG 2017, the new Xtreme XR1055 is designed to lift up to 10,000 lb. (4,536 kg), reach heights of up to 55 ft. (16.7 m), and has a maximum forward reach of 40.5 ft. (12.3 m). PT Pelabuhan Indonesia 3 (Pelindo 3) has expanded its fleet of Konecranes equipment by placing an order for three Model 4 and two Model 5 rubber-tyred mobile harbour cranes for its Tanjung Perak Port. A Totton-based firm has been fined after an employee lost his leg in a collision with a forklift. According to the Daily Echo, Puma Engineering and Construction was fined GBP8,000 (USD10,000) by district judge Loraine Morgan after admitting falling short of health and safety rules. German access and telehandler rental company Möller Manlift has acquired the forklift rental division of Kaufmann Flurfördertechnik. The acquired equipment will be available from Möller's four locations in Würzburg, Schweinfurt, Bad Kissingen and Fulda. Warren Access has bought a fleet of JCB Access electric scissor lifts, heralding the start of a long-term partnership between the two family-run businesses.
