 Santana's new Phoenix facility |
Used equipment retailer Santana Equipment Trading Company has announced the opening of a new facility for its Phoenix, Arizona operations.
Santana Equipment West Division (Phoenix) opened its doors in June of 2012 as the company's first satellite location. With the help of its headquarters office, located in the Chicago, Illinois area, the Phoenix branch quickly became one of the top sellers of used forklifts in its local market.
The new facility is conveniently located near both Interstate-17 and Interstate-10 in West-Central Phoenix. The new facility is 10,000 sqft. (930 sqm) larger than the previous location.
Alex Stuckey, Santana Equipment's west division manager, notes that the new facility will allow Santana to stock more equipment and offer customers a wider selection of quality forklifts.
"We moved our stock from our old location to the new. We are always sourcing more inventory, but will now have room to stock two to three times more forklifts since the new property is (significantly) larger than our previous space here in Phoenix."
With two additional new staff members starting off at the new location, Stuckey is bullish about his recruitment intentions: "We plan to hire additional staff to meet the rapid-growing demand for our products in the south-west region of the United States and in Mexico," he says. "Santana Equipment plans to continue its expansion in Phoenix over the next several years."
Santana was founded in 1999 by Eric Davidson out of a townhouse in the northern suburbs of Chicago.
In 2002, he moved his operations to Vernon Hills, IL, and added five employees. With continued growth and expansion, the company then moved to Gurnee, IL in 2005 and began the retail side of the business. Five more employees were added at this time, and the company began selling used forklifts in the retail market.
