Rocla Oyj and the Technical Research Centre of Finland (VTT) have developed a forklift that automatically identifies its load using RFID.

Data from the load is automatically transferred to warehouse management systems, reducing errors in goods collection, Esmerk Finnish News reported.

An RFID pilot forklift is being tested at hazardous waste treatment services provider Ekokem's Riihimäki plant.

VTT is also developing a traffic and road toll monitoring system in China, based on long-range RFID remote identification technology. RFID readers will be installed on each of Wuhan city's bridges this year.
