TAWI's MOP aids e-commerce
Kungsbacka, Sweden

TAWI is seeing rising demand for its Mobile Order Picker (MOP) which "allows one person to do the job of two while relieving their backs from injuries caused by lifting heavy objects - at the location they need it".
The TAWI MOP's adjustable tower height allows operators to reach into pack racks or other low-headroom areas, giving them the greatest possible benefit in any kind of lifting operation.
Peter Wood, global segments sales manager at Piab's ergonomic handling division, explains: "The MOP removes 100% of the weight of the products that the operators currently lifts, and its ergonomic and user-friendly controls allows operators to move at speed and keep up with their day-to-day tasks.
"The return on investment is an added bonus with the ongoing challenges COVID 19 is putting onto the e-commerce industry. As orders are increasing, this is putting added pressure on staffing levels. With TAWI's MOP, which is a single operator lifting aid, two-person pick teams can now be reduced to one, allowing companies to manage their staff and shifts more efficiently. As an additional benefit, it also helps reduce the number of damaged items due to operators dropping the products when they are heavy or difficult to grip."

Meyer adds fork positioner
Piacenza, Italy

Meyer has extended its Generation G series with a separate ISO 4 capacity sideshift.
With the attachment frame width being independent from the carriage width of the truck, a maximum opening range is provided for the handling of various load sizes. The fork retainers, with their flexible fork adjustment, can utilise different fork sections for use of standard truck forks. Wider fork hooks, or special fork widths, traverse freely over the outer attachment frame - the full opening range remains available. The heavy-duty fork positioner is also designed to work with extremely long forks.
The fork retainers are pre-drilled as standard for easy retrofitting of bolt-on forks.
The latest additions to the range extend the capacity to 14 T at 600 mm load centre and various chassis widths for all truck sizes.
The new Meyer 6-26G ISO 4 is available from early 2021.

Philadelphia Scientific adds monitor
Montgomeryville, PA, United States

Philadelphia Scientific has released eGO!c, its latest and most advanced battery life monitor which it claims turns "any lead-acid battery into a smart battery".
Over 78% of batteries don't achieve their maximum potential and at least 20% of a battery's total life is lost due to abuse, the company warns.
The eGO!c records over 256,000 data samples, across 28 fields, covering 12 separate performance indicators and featuring an integrated electrolyte indicator, creating "an all-encompassing intelligence system that delivers the data that is locked in your batteries".
From work, rest, charge, and cooldown hours to opportunity and abuse cycles, the complete performance of a battery can be seen via the data portal. Giving both an entire overview and the ability to drill down into the finest details, the eGO!C system allows users to pinpoint problem areas and address problems pro-actively.
