Distributor introduces new Italian forklifts

European Handling Equipment has launched the latest generation of Mariotti compact electric rider forklifts in the UK, which it claims are the world's most compact electric rider forklifts.
With minimum lengths of 1,095 mm (3.6 ft.) and overall widths of 788 mm (2.6 ft.), the range includes 14 models with lift capacities ranging from 400 kg (882 lb.) to 1,200 kg (2,646 lb.).
Standard features include AC drive and pump motors, hydraulic brakes, electronic lift controls, power steering, integrated sideshift, cushion or super elastic tyres and curve speed control.

Gas forklift features in Gadget Show

A Jungheinrich forklift has starred in an episode of UK Channel 5's consumer technology program, The Gadget Show. In an item broadcast in March, one of the show's presenters, Ortis Deley, took on strongman Dave Meer in a series of strength tests. For one event, Meer had to lift and throw as many as possible industrial tyres weighing 8 kg (18 lb.) each over a 15 ft. (4.6 m) high bar within a minute. He managed 24. While Meer relied on muscle power, Deley used the Jungheinrich T430S gas-powered counterbalanced forklift fitted with a special clamp attachment to lift and drop 25 tyres over the bar within the allotted time to eclipse Meer's score by one.
As well as providing the forklift, Jungheinrich's specialist forklift operator training team gave Deley an intensive course in forklift operation.
