Terex Noell (China) has received an order for eight rubber RTGs from Ningbo Port's Chuanshan Terminal.

Terex Noell (China) has received an order for eight rubber-tyred gantry cranes (RTGs) with elevated Bus Bar system from Ningbo Port's Chuanshan Terminal. There are already 47 Noell RTGs working at the terminal.

Spokeswoman Mishara Meng says with the Bus Bar system, the RTGs will not be powered by engines or generators, but by the terminal shore power-elevated bus bar system.

Terex Noell (China) has delivered a total of 139 rubber-tyred and rail-mounted gantry cranes to Ningbo Port since 1999. Meng says the Ningbo Ports Group is one of the company's most important Chinese clients. Ningbo Port handles 14 million TEUs a year.

The RTGs will be used for container handling in the Ningbo Chuanshan container terminals. The order is worth USD8 million.

US crane manufacturer Terex Corp completed its acquisition of Italian company Fantuzzi in 2009, as part of its strategy to tap the Chinese and European markets (Forkliftaction.com News #422).

Fantuzzi pioneered reach stacker and empty container handling forklift production in China. The Fantuzzi product range includes Noell-branded straddle carriers and rail and rubber-tyred gantry cranes. Zhangzhou-based Noell Crane Systems China, established in 1991, is a member of the Fantuzzi Group of companies (Forkliftaction.com News #253).
