HYDRAULIC EXTENDERS LIGHTEN THE LOAD

Meijer Special Equipment has released a new range of hydraulically-controlled extending forks, which it said would reduce pallet and product damage in warehouses.

Unlike conventional mechanical extendable forks, the new Slide-Range is controllable from the seat, and does not suffer the weight gains necessary with manual fork extenders.

Standard forks are often too long or too short, especially for euro-pallets. Forks too short do not support loads completely, and forks that are too long can damage goods. Damage and extra handling costs are estimated at 1% of the total stacked volume.

One feature of the Slide-Range is that the outer forks are level with the inner forks, preventing damage to pallets when retracting the forks. It is also possible to move two pallets at once.
