Standard and custom solutions for electrically conductive wheels and castors used in hazardous areas by the world's leading manufacturer of VULKOLLAN® wheels and castors.

The success story of VULKOLLAN®-ELF began 10 years ago. "Up to 1999, electrically conductive VULKOLLAN® wheels were always equipped with brass brushes. We were not satisfied with this solution where the brass brush was fixed on the wheel centre and then cast in VULKOLLAN®. This procedure is time-consuming and costly. Moreover the width of the contact surface discharging electrical charges was limited, load capacities were low and there was a high rate of failure. Therefore, we developed and introduced a new, patented method for the production of electrically conductive VULKOLLAN® wheels," explains Bernd Dolk, sales director of RAEDER-VOGEL®.

Today RAEDER-VOGEL® manufactures drive and load wheels, stabilising wheels as well as guiding wheels and pallet rollers with VULKOLLAN®-ELF tread.

The load capacities of VULKOLLAN®-ELF wheels exceed the load capacities of the VULKOLLAN® wheels with brass brush and are also higher than the load capacities of electrically conductive rubber wheels. Contrary to rubber, VULKOLLAN®-ELF is non marking.

It is of special importance that electrical discharging takes place through the whole tread and over the whole contact surface. Consequently a continuous and safe discharging, regardless of the tread wear, is achieved. The volume resistance of the wheels is always below 10.000 ohms and thus exceeds the requirements of the European standards DIN EN 12527 and sqq. Each wheel is tested before shipment.

RAEDER-VOGEL® VULKOLLAN®-ELF wheels and castors are used in a multitude of industries such as the chemical and pharmaceutical industry, paint factories, automobile industry, refineries, offshore oil rigs, cosmetics industry, electrical and electronic industry, pyrotechnical industry, production of mobile phones, photo and tobacco industry.

Major forklift and materials handling OEM as well as companies specialising in converting forklift trucks such as MIAG, Sichelschmidt, Miretti, Excen and Pyroban have approved RAEDER-VOGEL® VULKOLLAN®-ELF wheels for production and as spare parts.
