UK gas supplier Calor will jointly sponsor the 2009 Safety Conference with the Fork Lift Truck Association at Warwick University.

The seventh conference, to be held on 30 September and themed "Understanding and Communicating the Risks", will include presentations on what the forklift industry is doing to highlight workplace health and safety risks.

FLTA chief executive David Ellison says Calor is the "obvious choice" for an event sponsor. "As a company, they have an unmatched reputation for supporting the safe operations of thousands of businesses in the UK," Ellison explains. "And for good reason, as the very nature of the LP gas product requires a thorough understanding of safe practices including hazard identification."

Calor representatives will be at the event to advise delegates and host a seminar on the best practice for gas forklifts. Other experts will be speaking and offering attendees practical guidance on important issues, information on current research and the latest safety products. For example, a Health & Safety Executive representative will reveal outcomes from new research into causes of forklift incidents.

"Solid, practical talks like this will benefit everyone involved in using forklifts, including owners, providers, site managers, trainers, safety officers and even those who occasionally hire lifting equipment," Ellison says.

Visit www.fork-truck.org.uk or email mail@fork-truck.org.uk for information about the conference.
