Grant helps drive woman’s ambition News Story - 17 Apr 2008 ( #356 ) - AYLESBURY, United Kingdom 1 min read A grant from the Prince's Trust is making it possible for Kayleigh Sledziewski to realise her dream of becoming a forklift driver.According to a report in The Bucks Herald, the 20-year-old is the first female candidate to be sponsored for forklift training under the scheme which provides practical and financial support to the young people who need it most.She was trained by Aylesbury trainer Sivatech, and already looks like having a bright future in the industry.According to a Sivatech spokeswoman, "By the time Kayleigh had finished here, she already had two jobs lined up to go to, so it has been worthwhile.""Forklift truck driving is still male dominated; we have only had two ladies train with us," the spokeswoman, is quoted as saying. "But our instructor says we actually drive the truck better than men; women are more attentive and less destructive."The Prince's Trust programme reaches its 25th anniversary in 2008. The Trust supported 37,900 young people last year.
