Kalmar straddle carriers

Kalmar Industries has established a new sales company in Mexico to support its dealer network and help develop the market.

"In recent years, Mexico has been subject to a variety of foreign investment projects, particularly in the ports sector. Kalmar remains steadfast in its strategy of shifting its sales and service support closer to its customers' operating environments," says Kalmar president Pekka Vauramo.

Gaston Chipy will be managing director of the Guadalajara-based company. He was a Kalmar sales director in South America. The company will hire a few service technicians and parts specialists and will increase its employees as business develops.

Guadalajara, Mexico's second-largest city, was chosen for its growing economy and central position to main ports on the east and west coasts.
