The launch of Nissan Forklift's new lower emission Platinum II Series lift trucks is a reflection of Nissan's global philosophy which seeks "symbiosis of people, vehicles and nature". These trucks are powered by Nissan's own reliable and efficient industrial engines, which have been redesigned to incorporate technological advances to increase fuel efficiency and performance. Nissan's industrial engines deliver greatly reduced exhaust emissions, which are well below the EPA's requirements established for 2007, and the California Air Resource Board's (CARB) stringent 2010 emission requirements. Long considered the leader in clean air engine technology, Nissan Forklift was once again the first forklift manufacturer to receive compliance status from both EPA and CARB, for our entire line of low emission engines, reflecting Nissan's holistic approach in our efforts to manage environmental impact and integrate the objectives set forth by Nissan's global Green Program. Available in pneumatic, compact pneumatic, and cushion tire models, with new standard and optional features like electronic hydraulic fingertip controls, an improved engine/transmission protection & warning system and more user friendly on-board diagnostics, Nissan's new Platinum II Series offers even greater productivity and value for your operation.
Drawing from Nissan's vast automotive experience, the Platinum II Series' redesigned K21 and K25 engines feature an all new Electronic Concentrated Control System (ECCS) for gasoline, LPG, and Dual Fuel use. The ECCS engines incorporate a closed loop electronic fuel injection system, electronic ignition, automotive type oxygen and mass air flow sensors, and a three-way catalytic muffler, resulting in improved combustion and lower emissions. A new Engine Control Module (ECM) monitors engine functions and controls the air/fuel ratio, torque, and speed needed to meet the demands of the application, with lower fuel consumption and low emission levels as a result. As an added safeguard, the Platinum II Series' ECM features an enhanced engine/transmission protection and warning system that automatically reduces engine revolutions in response to excessive heat generation or low oil pressure, extending engine and drivetrain life.
The newest addition to Nissan's family of industrial engines is its QD32 diesel engine, available in larger capacity pneumatic Platinum II models. Nissan's powerful, clean burning QD32 delivers improved fuel consumption and emission levels well below the 2008 EPA diesel requirements, and featuring a completely new, electronic controlled, Quick Glow System to ensure fast reliable starts in cold weather conditions.
All Platinum II Series lift trucks incorporate Nissan's exclusive Vehicle Control Module (VCM) to monitor and control several vehicle functions, including the Operator Presence System. This seat-actuated system consists of auto-mast lock, return-to-neutral, and audio & visual warnings. Sensor data and control parameters are communicated between the ECM, VCM, and Meter Panel, through a sophisticated Controller Area Network (CAN) system.
The new LCD display Meter Panel notifies the operator of changing truck conditions via a full range of indicators, and easily communicates critical information to the operator or technician. Through the Meter Panel, the plant manager can activate PIN code access, setting five separate passwords for operational access to the forklift to prevent theft, restrict the vehicle use, and monitor operator hours. Programmable service reminder allows technicians to set a maintenance period reminder based on truck hours or calendar days. An on-board diagnostics display allows a certified technician to monitor, activate, and change vehicle settings without the need for a separate handset tool.
Standard value added features make the Platinum II Series the perfect choice for a wide variety of material handling requirements, including:
